Cold, windy and dull.
I always look at old fence posts and today I found a few of them in an area that has been forested and more recently deforested. They're covered in Cladonias.
This post was topped with a specimen of Cladonia portentosa.
The fruiting tips of these Cladonia polydactyla are branched.
