Original Hedgerow, leg1.

Snow overnight, with alternating snow and sun during the day.

Two shots of Mnium hornum. The image on the right shows the water-filled immature capsule cap, which I'm convinced is used to enhance light directed towards the leaves and stems of the plants.

When it's at this stage, it's easier to understand the link between Cleavers - Galium aparine - and the other members of the Galium family.

This Starling paused on the rooftop, made a noise that perfectly imitated a kitten, and then flew off.

The Common Field Speedwell - Veronica persica - has appeared. It's given as an all-year-rounder by the books, but I mostly see it in winter. Maybe it just gets over-shadowed later.
