Original Hedgerow, leg1.

Snow overnight, with alternating snow and sun during the day.

This is a very common moss on wall-tops. I've tentatively identified it as Brachythecium rutabulum. The second image shows the teeth surrounding the opening of the capsule. The opening, or opercule, is about 1 mm. diameter.

The leaves of Yarrow - Achillea millefolium - are always worth a close examination. Perhaps the most complex commonly-found leaf.
