Original Hedgerow, leg 1.

Bright but cool.

One bramble leaf, 3 leaflets, 5 micromoth larvae, 4 Stigmella aurella micromoths. Quite efficient.

When the sun shines on the Polytrichum formosum capsules they shine like jewels.

This is a 'toofer'. Two for the price of one. Common Field Speedwell - Veronica persica - and Hairy Bittercress intertwined.

I was looking in vain for Greater Stitchwort in flower, but found this little (20 cm. x15 cm.) patch of plants. I can see:

Sorrel

Pignut

Ribwort Plantain

Germander Speedwell

Greater Stitchwort (hard to spot)

And anonymous grasses.

Another little collection on a piece of earth in the wall. Herb Robert, Field Speedwell, Hairy Bittercress, Ochrolechia parella (lichen) and Mnium hornum (moss) can be seen.
