Original Hedgerow, leg 2.

Dull with frequent heavy showers.

Ivy-leaved Water Crowfoot - Ranunculus hederacea - has appeared in the muddy ruts at the entrance to a field. The flower is only about 6mm. across. It's interesting that plants that flower later are not as relatively late as ones that flower earlier. (That made sense to me).

Marsh Marigold leaves have appeared at the bottom of the ditch.

This odd Willow grows at the edge of the path. The shoots are very thin and whippy, so there's probably a bit of S. viminalis in there. The leaves are quite long, but oval. I'm sure it's the viminalis X purpurea hybrid - Salix rubra. I'll check the leaf details later in the year.

A couple of shots of a male Melanostoma mellinum on Dandelion.
