River Deele.

Bright and warm.

This Chironimid, or non-biting midge, is on every leaf down by the river. The instant they land they start to wave those front legs around in some kind of signal. About 4mm long. This one's a female (small antennae).

The identification of this bug has been bothering me for a couple of years. Anthocorus nemorum looks to fit the bill. It is one of the so-called Flower Bugs, and is a predator on other insects. About 3mm long.

An explosion of action caught my eye. This Lesser Dung-fly has captured a gnat.

Even the Ramsons has a fungal rust - Puccinia sessilis.

I watched this Woodlouse for a while. It climbed to the top of a little Ivy shoot and then appeared to close down for the night.
