Original Hedgerow, leg 1.

Dull with showers.

A couple of snail shots. These require a bit of patience, since the snails usually retract on the approach of the camera, and take a while to re-emerge.

Hartstongue Fern is usually the first to send up the curling new leaves.

This Celandine appears to be having a bit of difficulty in deciding which way the petals go. Some evolutionary experiments are doomed to failure from the start.

A nice little side-shot of the hoverfly Melanostoma sp.

My first hovering hoverfly of the year - another Melanostoma.
