High Heath.
Incessant rain with late respite. |
Devilsbit Scabious leaves have appeared. It will be quite some time before the flowers put in an appearance.
|
Harestail Cotton-grass - Eriophorum vaginatum - is one of two Cotton Grasses in this locality. This has a single flower-head. |
I was alerted to the presence of this Willow Beetle by the chewed leaves. Lochmaea capreae, about 8 mm long. |
The first flowers of Lousewort - Pedicularis sylvatica. This is well-suited to the local damp environment, but I've only found it in a couple of ditches. |
Two shots of Omphalina ericetorum. Cap about 1 cm. across.
