High Heath.

Incessant rain with late respite.

Devilsbit Scabious leaves have appeared. It will be quite some time before the flowers put in an appearance.

Harestail Cotton-grass - Eriophorum vaginatum - is one of two Cotton Grasses in this locality. This has a single flower-head.

I was alerted to the presence of this Willow Beetle by the chewed leaves. Lochmaea capreae, about  8 mm long.

The first flowers of Lousewort - Pedicularis sylvatica. This is well-suited to the local damp environment, but I've only found it in a couple of ditches.

Two shots of Omphalina ericetorum. Cap about 1 cm. across.
