Original Hedgerow, leg1.

Sadly, this stretch of the hedgerow was severely cut the next day, so there will be nothing here for the remainder of the year.

Warm and humid, with some brief showers.

Obviously an Agaric of some kind. As soon as I smelled it I got the distinctive whiff of aniseed. It's the Horse Mushroom - Agaricus arvensis. A bit early and new to the site.

Another new micromoth: a Tortrix. Maybe Epiphyas postvittana - the Light Brown Apple Moth - an accidental introduction from Australia in the 1930's.

I found another specimen of Hogweed with Parsnip moth larvae in the flower head. This is an earlier instar than the specimen shown yesterday.

The penultimate (in terms of flowering) St. Johns Wort on the patch - Square Stalked St. Johns Wort - Hypericum tetrapterum. Just Tutsan to go.

One of the smaller macro-moths: Straw Dot - Sericea rivealis.

One of the Chrysopilus Snipe Flies.
