High Heath.

Frequent rain showers.

A fine new hoverfly for the site: Eristalis horticola. The main characters are the yellow bands on the abdomen and the large shadow on the wings. The 'eristalis bulge' can be seen near the tip of the nearer wing.

Hedge Bindweed is the third Bindweed for the year. Calystegia sepium.

Sneezewort is closely related to Yarrow. It hasn't made me sneeze yet. Achmillea Ptarmica.

Demonstrative proof that Tenthredo sawflies are predatory as adults. This one has killed a Bibio much the same size as itself. Note that they pull their prey below the umbel of the Angelica, thereby giving themselves some shelter as they eat. (I had pulled the nearside of the umbel away to get a clear shot.)
