Original Hedgerow, leg 2.

 

Occasional rain showers.

The larvae of the Coleophora moths are beginning to appear on Soft Rush. Perhaps a bit more numerous this year.

 

No problem identifying the guilty party here. A Muscid with Entomophthora muscae at full development. The pink fungus can clearly be seen emerging between the tergites of the fly. The wings are in the fully forward position to promote spore dispersal.

Second generation Green-veined Whites have been out for about a month now, and numbers are reducing again.

Two shots of a tiny (10mm.) Ichneumon.

   

 

And this one looks very like Amblyteles armatorius, but is half the size at 15mm long.

 

A Sawfly larva on Raspberry. The most likely candidate is Arge gracilicornis. Id awaiting confirmation.

Upper and underside views of a gall on Willow. Maybe the Willow Bean Gall.
