I've read that some Heaths and Heathers prefer dryer or wetter environments, although if I find one I generally find the others. This shot shows all three of the local species within a metre of each other. (Bell Heather, Cross-leaved Heath and Heather from left to right). |

The seeds of Red Valerian have well-developed 'parachutes' or pappus to aid with dispersal. |
