I spotted a couple of Eristalis intricarius hoverflies (left) that were much more 'red' than usual. I suppose they are mimicking Bombus pascuorum - the Common Carder Bumblebee (right).
For comparison, here is the more usual form of Eristalis intricarius which mimicks one of the black-bodied bumblebees.

Second generation Peacocks are appearing in increasing numbers. I counted 17 during this short stroll. |
A female Common Darter dragonfly. |
Common Chickweed. Not exactly a scarce species. |
