My house. Later: Drumboe Wood. Dry and pleasant. |
I usually hear buzzards before I see them. There were two hunting along the verge, keeping in contact with their distinctive 'keeyaaaah' call. |
A couple of shots of fly larvae on the Shaggy Parasol - Macrolepiota rhacodes.
These larvae need to get from egg to maturity in perhaps three or four days. Compare and contrast with the larvae of Picture-wing flies that take 6 months to make the same transformation inside seedheads of flowers. |
A left-over from Drumboe wood. Three images of a micromoth mine on Oak. Phyllonorycter quercifoliella.
