Original Hedgerow, leg 1.

A slight gap in the rain.

The path north through the Ash trees is always dark and damp, even in summer. The stream to the right ensures constant humidity and the high bank provides shade. An excellent spot for ferns, fungi, lichens and liverworts.

This Graphis lichen is growing on an old Ash. Graphis elegans, I think.

Gorse has flowered again after its Autumn rest.

Ash keys are still waiting to drop.

Mycena galericulata is one of the larger Mycenas. The cap on this one is about 3 cm.across.

A pale fungal patch on a damaged Ash.

Marasmius epiphylloides is an Ivy specific. The caps are about 2mm. across, and the close-up shows that the gills are little more than wrinkles.
