Original Hedgerow, leg 1.

We're experiencing a strange phenomenon at the moment: during daylight hours it rains non-stop, but when it's dark, there is little or no rain. This means I can't get any photographs. I don't mind getting wet, but I can't risk the camera. I notice that my website 'hits' are dropping, and I know that's because I'm not updating frequently. The weather will change, sometime.

Rain.

I've discovered that it's best to manually control exposure under poor light conditions. The left-hand image is taken under the 'average lighting' setting, and when the background is dark, the shot is overexposed. Taking control of the exposure, I can make it faster. That results in a better image with more detail.

The left-hand image is 1/30th at f2.8, the right-hand image is 1/80th at f2.8.
