Orthotrichum anomalum appears to be happy to grow on both wood and stone. |
A late flowering for Bush Vetch - Vicia sepium.

This fungal rust was evident on virtually every Dock leaf.

A focus on the individual seeds of Dog Violet - Viola riviniana. |
Xanthoria parietina must be one of the most recognisable lichens. The orange fruitbodies are very prominent at the moment. |
A shot of Rhabdophaga cinerea- the Willow Cabbage gall - on willow. The compressed leaves form a secure home for the gall fly to overwinter. The branch has been shortened by about 50 cm by the gall.

I'm not at all sure of the identity of this moss that covers gate posts and walls in a very low carpet. |
I'm more certain of this Mnium hornum, which grows in very similar locations: vertical stone surfaces. |
