Various locations, as specified.

1 x Small Tortoiseshell, 1 x Peacock.

Warm and sunny.

High heath. Ripening capsules of the moss Ceratodon purpureus.

And closeby, the glaucus leaves indicate the (male) antheridia of Pogonatum urnigerum - one of the Polytrichales.

I spotted these three Whirligig beetles spinning all over the surface of the ditch. Gyrinus substriatus.

An Earthworm crossed the Hedgerow, leg 2 path. Lumbricus rubellus.

Common Carder Bumblebee - Bombus pascuorum - nectaring but not gathering pollen.

This could be a very interesting shot. Last year I found some putative Bombus cryptarum specimens. I was asked to keep my eye open for more and this has the typical black notch on the yellow collar. B. cryptarum is a recent segregate from B. lucorum.

The first new shoots of Tutsan.

The simple straight stems of Water Horsetail - Equisetum fluviale - have sprung up.

Later, I was called out to look at scores of pupae on a porch ceiling. Small White butterfly - Pieris rapae. I won't bother with the spider.

And in the same porch, a 3 cm. long millipede.
