Original Hedgerow, leg 1.

1 x Small Tortoiseshell.

Warm and sunny.

First Cow Parsley flowers of the year.

A couple of Daisy shots.

Two shots of Eristalis pertinax. I don't get many of them in the landing configuration.

A 'Bluebottle'.

Platychierus albimanus about to land.

Sycamore leaves opened today.

A nice shot of Veronica persica - Common Field Speedwell, on a wall.

New growth of Yarrow. Last year's plants are still flowering on bridges over the river Deele.

More shots of yesterday's mining bee. I've included these in the vain hope that someone can get them to family for me.

This last shot gives some sense of scale.

Finally, back at the house: a Mayfly - one of the Baetidae. The photomicrograph shows the small and sparsely-veined rear wing.
