Original Hedgerow, leg 2.

1 x Green-veined White, male. 1 x Green-veined White, female. 1 x Orange Tip, male. 1 x Small Tortoiseshell.

Bright and warm, with a sprinkle of drizzle.

My first Orange Tip of the year: 4 days earlier than last year and found about 1m away from where I found my first specimen last year.

Female (left) and male (right) Green-veined Whites.

New season's Herb Robert, as opposed to all the stragglers left over from last year.

Neoascia podagrica is the smallest hoverfly I've photographed. Less than 5mm long.

A much smaller than usual Eristalis. Maybe something like Eristalis interruptus, or perhaps just a runt.

New growth of the thalloid liverwort Conocephalum conicum has appeared on the back wall of the ditch.
