Frequent heavy rain.

 

Broad Buckler Fern has almost fully opened, and sori are just forming on the underside of the fronds.

 

Ground Ivy must be quite choosy in its choice of habitat. I don't find it in too many places.

Brooklime, on the other hand, is to be found anywhere there is lying or sluggish water.

 

The liverwort Marchantia polymorpha also grows on damp ground.

Blinks is a most tedious little plant.

    

 

Red Campion is flourishing on verges, hedgerows and riverbanks.
