2nd April |
Quite dull again, today. Went to a number of locations. |
This Horse-tail is on the boggy bit of the original hedgerow, and grows branchless in the sluggish stream. Based on the very thin stem walls, I'm plumping for Water Horse-tail, although it might be the hybrid with Field Horse-tail which is only a few metres away. |
Two round crustose lichens. Left, on a rock and right, on Ash bark (Opegrapha atra).
|
This Yellow Archangel is almost certainly an escape, but it makes large patches of verge, even in remote hedges. |
Oilseed Rape has escaped from fields and has established itself as the prime wild brassica in this area, as well as others.
