High deforested heath.

Frequent heavy showers.

I have found the micromoth Catoptria margaritella a few times, but all very close to this location.

I found this very small (4mm) larva on Eared Willow. It looks to be a very early instar Vapourer moth.

And on another nearby Willow, this rolled leaf intrigued me.

A little bit of exploration revealed this micromoth larva in a spinning.

No id, yet.

A nymph (early part of life-cycle) of a Capsid Bug.

There seem to be more pure white Common Spotted Orchids this year. They stand out very clearly amongst the normal pinks and lilacs.

One of the Cixiids. These are closely related to leaf-hoppers.

This female ichneumonid was flying rapidly between seedheads of grasses. I only managed the shot when she paused to wipe her rear legs on her wings.

Marsh Ragwort.

Two more flower portraits: Selfheal (left) and Slender St. Johns Wort (right).

Lastly, a little moth that absolutely refused to show me its upper side.
