Original Hedgerow, leg 2.

Frequent heavy showers.

Wasps are avidly collecting wood pulp for their nests. This Dolichovespula sylvestris - Tree Wasp - was chewing away at a fence post. The red patches on the abdomen gave me a fair clue about identification, but the hour-glass shape between the eyes confirmed the id.

The three 'extra' ocelli (simple eyes) can just be seen in both images.

This is a dark form of Philaneus spumarius - the Frog Hopper.

This Dor Beetle quickly crossed the path. Panning on macro is a learned skill.

A lateral view of the capsid bug I found in Scotland.

I've seen the micromoth Udea lutealis for a week or so, but most insects are very busy just after emergence. Photographs are usually easier after they have found a mate and quietened down. Slightly.
