Steeple Wood.

Bright, sunny and hot.

The verge is covered with Wild Strawberries at this point.

The first of the Willowherbs I've found in flower is Broad-leaved Willowherb.

Common Spotted Orchid has also flowered. In common with my Marsh Orchids this year, this is substantially dwarfed.

A Willowherb that I rarely see with open flowers: New Zealand Willowherb.

This little (8mm) fly has confounded all attempts to get close to an identification. Those round eyes must help.

One of the Cixid bugs. About 6mm long.

Crested Dogstail grass is the next to open.
