Original Hedgerow, leg 2.

Bright with dull periods.

This Raspberry leaf was folded and had a 'window' eaten in it. The fold revealed a small (8mm.) moth larva.

A new moth species for the site: Gold Swift - Hepialus hecta. Known to use Bracken as a larval foodplant.

This Sawfly is very numerous at the moment. It is noticeably grey in flight.

A new fungal infection on fresh leaves of Bramble. Closest to Phragmidium bulbosum.

The other day I mentioned the very humped thorax of the Empidid Flies. This shot shows it quite clearly.

A large (c. 1 cm.) Weevil eating a Bramble leaf (but not standing on Bramble).

A small but perfectly formed Ichnemonid ran quickly over and under leaves looking for a host.

One of the Tenthredo sp. Sawflies. These will be around in very large numbers from now on.
