Clear-felled heath.

 

Dull with heavy showers.

In 2004 I made the second Irish record for Collybia aquosa at this location. I haven't seen it since, but I spotted these two in deep shade under conifers. Caps about 2 cm.across.

    

The bulbous stipe separates it from other similar species:

 

Common Butterwort is just about ready to open.

 

This is an inspiring shot. Soon this whole area will be covered in white, pink, cream and purple spikes of the Common Spotted Orchid, Heath Spotted Orchid, Northern Marsh Orchid and all of their intermediates.
