Original Hedgerow, leg 2.
Persistent heavy rain. |
A Tachinid which is rather smaller than usual. Perhaps 12mm long.
One of the Soldier Flies - Chloromyia formosa. |
A black capsid on Bramble. |
An exploring Ichneumonid. All crevices that might contain a hidden caterpillar are examined. Note that one antenna is active: the other is extended. |
Philaneus spumaria froghopper nymph, presumably just emerged from the Cuckoo Spit. |
A scarce enough shot of a Honeybee. |
A nice little scaling shot. The micromoth Celypha lacunana (left) and yet another colour form of the froghopper Philaneus spumarius. |
Today was hot and humid: ideal for flying ants. This one was found on my car. I now realise why they are sometimes known to bite.
An early dipterous mine on Angelica.
