Deciduous fringe of coniferous forestry.

 

More or less constant rain.

When it rains all day I tend to head for this area since the tall deciduous trees keep out most of the rain. Sadly they also cut out most of the light on an already dull day.

Three shots of the micromoth Parornix fagivora. The left-hand shot shows the upper surface of the Beech leaf, with the crease caused by the miner folding the leaf. The second shot is the underside, showing the fold.

    

The third shot shows the pupa (just below left of centre). The pupa is about 5mm long.

An unidentified weevil that was eating dead bits of fern.

    

 

A fantastic section of the seedheads of Foxglove. This specimen reached way above my head, making the plant well over 2m tall.
