16th September |
Non-fungal images from the foray near Omagh, NI.
Dry but overcast. |
Early in the day I was so desperate for pictures that I started taking flowers, dogs, landscapes, etc. This is Veronica persica - Field Speedwell, or Birds's-eye Speedwell. |
A nice 3-in 1 picture. Nettle Tap micromoth (top left), Hedge Bindweed and the hoverfly Helophilus pendulus inside the Bindweed.
|
The Common Banded Snail - Cepaea hortensis. |
A fairly old mine of a generalist feeder on Beech - none of the specific Beech feeders is even a slight match. Without a tenant (larva in situ) there is little chance of an identification. |
This is the mine of the micromoth Stigmella hemargyrella.
|
I'm waiting for the id for this minute fungal horn on Cow Parsley. |
The fungal rust Puccinia graminis on the grass Timothy. |
