This is the micromoth Agonopterix arenella, which looks to have excellent camouflage for coniferous forestry, but is, in fact, a Thistle and Knapweed specialist. New to Co. Donegal.

Many of the mosses are putting up new growth before they start to produce sporing capsules. Mnium hornum. |
Something had left these bones after (presumably) eating the rest of the carcase. If the bones are of a bird, then it's chicken-sized.

It was a bit of a surprise to find Viola riviniana in flower in September, although I found it in a very similar location around the same date last year. |
