Approach to high deforested area.

Sunny periods.

As I was scanning willow bushes for ichneumons (there were many of them running around the upper and lower surfaces of the leaves), I was suddenly stopped in my tracks by this female Common Hawker Dragonfly. They are usually very flighty, but this one let me take many pictures before it lazily flew off. Wing span about 10 cm.

The eyes are very interesting. Close up they seem to have shimmering bright spots deep inside them.
