A very mixed bag, today. Original Hedgerow.

Overcast but dry.

A 7-spot ladybird was running all over the Gorse eating some creature far too small for me to see. The 7-spot has now been seen for the last 9 months.

This common little Candle Snuff fungus - Xylaria hypoxylon - grows on old stumps or branches.

This is the Deceiver - Laccaria laccata. It gets its name from the fact that it can appear in many colours, ranging from white through cream to orange and pink. Compare with the Amethyst Deceiver from 24th September.

This little (15mm.) frog hopped across the path. That size would make it one of last year's.

A fascinating minute fungus on dead wood. The twig is only 4mm. in diameter, so the right hand specimens will be 2 and 3 mm. across the cap. Bisporella citrina.
