This page shows further fungi and some lichens. All images are from Glenveagh.

The lichen in this banner is Baeomyces rufus. The fruit bodies are roughly 1mm tall.

Dull with occasional showers.

Two Marasmius species. The tiny Marasmius hudsonii grows on fallen Holly Leaves. Note the spines on the young specimen in the left hand picture. The specimens on the right are Marasmius epiphylloides - the Horse Hair mushroom. Roughly 5mm. tall, on Ivy.

This minute Lachnum apalum grows on dead stalks of rushes. The rush is approximately 4mm. in diameter.

The dead and soft stems of Bracken are the host for this tiny white disc. Maybe Micropodia pteridina.

These are specimens of Trichaptum abietinum - a small fragile bracket with a distinctive purple underside. Individual specimens about 2 cm. - 3 cm. across.

Cystoderma amianthinum is a very attractive little fungus with a very wrinkled stem. Cap about 2 cm. across.

Two related lichens. Sticta limbata on the left and Sticta sylvatica on the right. The S. sylvatica is distinctive in that it smells of rotting fish.
