A couple of pictures left over from the Kilkenny trip.

 

Rain all day.

 

I find that these water-on-plant pictures never quite translate onto the recorded medium. I suppose that's because the camera takes from a fixed perspective, whereas we view with a (slightly) moving eye and see the 'rainbow' effect. Anyway, this is a Dandelion seed-head early in the morning, with the dew still in place.

This 'Fairy Ring' mushroom was actually rather prominent in fields and on lawns. The ring expands from an initial specimen and spreads outwards as the underlying mycelium grows. Marasmius oreades.

 

The seeds of the Ash tree are beginning to ripen now. They are often called 'keys', from the resemblance to keys on a keyring.
