Original Hedgerow.

The 2 missing ferns were added to Thursday's page.

Bright with a few showers.

One or two flowers are making another push before winter sets in. Herb Bennet on the left and Nipplewort on the right.

I wondered if would miss this little Ichneumon this year. It runs very quickly over the nettle leaves, with the white dots on the antennae flickering rapidly and continuously. About 12 mm. long.

The Herb Robert is also still in evidence. It was one of the earliest flowers I showed this year.

Two more species that spend a lot of time on nettles. A Harvestman on the left and one of the micro-moths on the right. The Moth Flies are tiny (this one is about 6mm. across) and have very soft wings. That, in combination with their flightiness, makes them very difficult to photograph.

This group of Common Inkcaps - Coprinus atramentarius was growing at the base of some Hawthorn.

Another shot from the wall. I'm not entirely sure what's happening, here. We appear to have one lichen that's consuming another. Outer green specimen about 8 cm. across.
