A recent wood harvesting exercise has left great piles of sawdust. This group of Clitocybe was frozen solid. Right hand specimen about 4 cm. across.
The pond was frozen over to a depth of about 1 cm. of ice. There were still Water Boatmen (Corixa sp.) swimming around under the ice. They must be using holes to get their air.
