Various locations in the town centre.
Dry in spells. |
A completely new moss to me...very attractive with the yellow/green colouring and star-shaped leaves with pale, hair-like tips. Must watch this one.
Specimen about 3 cm. across. |
And more mosses...Mnium hornum, with the green, drooping capsules, and Tortula muralis with the red/pink ones. This lot was growing on a gate pillar, and the image is about 3 cm. tall. |
A few plants currently in flower....Red Dead-nettle top left, Daisy top right, and Yarrow below.
|
A rather poor picture of a Snail-killing fly - Tetanocera elata. The strange, blunt abdomen can just be seen under the wings. |
I showed this tiny (5mm) Galerina clavata earlier in the year from the same location. I suppose it must reappear from time to time. |
