A few seedheads today (well, that was the intention, but mother nature decided otherwise). Location was high deforestation.
Dull, but dry. |
On the left, we have the seeds of the Bramble - the fruit has disappeared without falling, leaving the seeds behind. But on the right you can see a new flower and a bud.
Knapweed is also both seeding and flowering at the moment.
On the left, Devil's-bit Scabious, and Autumn Hawkbit on the right. Notice that the Autumn Hawkbit seedhead, whilst seeming to resemble the Dandelion, is darker, and has a more angular shape.
Ragwort on the left, and Rosebay Willowherb on the right.
Spear Thistle and Ribwort Plantain.
Lastly, a Bibio - Bibio lepidus - on Bush Vetch (which was also in seed).
