High deforestation with ditches.
Misty with occasional bright spells. |
This tiny (1 to 2 cm.) bracket was growing on dead logs. It's maybe a Panellus. On examining my photos, I decided to make a feature of this very photogenic species. When younger, the specimens resemble little pearls growing out of the wood. I notice that the left specimen on the underside shot has a siamese twin.
Later, the fungus develops a slightly brown colouring.
And finally, those gills deserve a close-up.

Next, a fascinating lichen - Physcia adscendens. At first it looked spiny, then a close-up revealed that its rhizoids are thread-like and brown.
|
The Lesser Spearwort is struggling on. The second shot shows the leaves, which clearly distinguish this plant from the Buttercups. (Although they are from the same family - Ranunculus.)
|
Finally, one of my hanging spider shots. Specimen about 2 cm. long as shown. Metellina segmentata. |
