A couple of further images from Drumboe Woods.
A 'green' theme, today. Dull with threats of snow that turned to rain. |
These are fresh Holly leaves. I suspect they are the result of some mechanical damage to the growing tip - the older leaves are torn below the new growth. |
Wood Speedwell shoots are just appearing. They are easily recognised by the pale yellow/green colour of the leaves. I always find them in close association with trees - they appear to prefer shade. |
This is one of the Graphis lichens. They're usually white to pale grey. I'm not sure if there are green species or if this is an algal growth on a normal coloured specimen. Graphis britannica - syn. Graphina anguina
