28th January

Beltany stone circle - so plenty of lichens.

Dull with showers and occasional light.

Two lichens on north-facing stones. On the left, Parmelia saxatilis.

Rhizocarpon geographicum and Ochrolechia parella.

Two shots of that most photogenic of mosses - Tortula muralis. The shot on the left is the top of a gate-post, and is about 20 cm from front to back.

Another photograph of some gnats or mosquitos flying as part of a cloud. It's interesting to see that they fly with their legs outstretched at all times.
