15th April

High heath, in a gap in the rain.

Dull and cool.

Common Centaury is a strange plant. It is locally common but is missing from places that seem just the same as places that are covered with it. These are the seedheads.

A couple of new leaves. Coltsfoot on the left - now that the flowers have gone - and Sorrel on the right.

Ribwort Plantain has started to produce flower shoots in the past few days.

Devil's-bit Scabious leaves have appeared, but it will be months before the flowers arrive. Possibly our latest flowering plant.
