Dull and cool.
I rather like this Bog Violet - Viola palustre. It grows in higher mossy areas. I have shown a separate photograph of the distinctive rounded leaves.
I've decided that this is the year of grasses, rushes and sedges for me. I just don't know nearly enough about them.
This is the first local grass to produce a seedhead: Sweet Vernal Grass - Anthoxanthum odoratum.
