Original Hedgerow, leg 2.

Is it just me or are seeds and spores being produced more quickly this year?

Hot with some sun.

These are the two stages of the seed-head of Meadow Buttercup - Ranunculus acris. Note that the final black version has prominent hooks to aid seed dispersal.

This seedhead of Birdsfoot Trefoil shows where the name originates.

Two more pods. Meadow Vetchling on the left and Tufted Vetch on the right.

A Small Tortoiseshell was trapped on the inside on my window. The transparent shot is quite attractive. The second brood of these is much more numerous this year.

Two shots of Sharp-flowered Rush - Juncus acutiflorus.
