Practical

The practical examination takes place in early May and lasts for two hours. 25% of the time is for preparation and 75% for cooking. During that time the students have to produce a dish of their choice. The students draw their tasks two weeks before the scheduled date of the examination and compile a design brief to help them complete their assignment.

The higher and ordinary level students do a common practical examination at this stage. However 35% of the marks are allocated to students taking the ordinary level and 25% of the marks are allocated to students taking the higher level for this part of the examination.
