Nightlife

Irish people are very fond of their own brand of pub culture. The pub in Ireland is the hub of most social events. The range and variety of establishments therefore reflects this important aspect of the country's character.

From quiet country bars to sophisticated jazz nightclubs, busy suburban taverns to noisy city clubs. All kinds of tastes are cared for. If you just want a quiet spot to rest for an hour or two or if you are looking for a night of fun and adventure you can easily find what will suit. Most of all it is the friendly atmosphere and relaxed nature of Irish pubs that makes them a firm favorite with visitors again and again.

Irish food and drink is likewise world renowned. The staple of many pubs is the lunchtime custom for full home-cooked meals. Many Irish people favour the dark stouts brewed by Guinness and Murphy's but full international selections are available in most places.

A visit to Ireland is a visit to a young and vibrant country. Any visit can be greatly enhanced by enjoying the many opportunities available for conversation, relaxation and of course 'craic'.

('Craic' is a well used term in Ireland to mean fun or enjoyment.)
