Primrose Cottage
Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, Ireland.

The 400-year old stone cottage, the oldest building on the ancestral Laird farm, was the original farmhouse. Nigel and Jacqui lovingly restored it in 1999, maintaining its charm while installing all the modern comforts. Upstairs are two bedrooms. One has a double and a single bed, and the second is a traditional loft bedroom with two single beds which overlooks the living room. Downstairs comprises a living room with a cast-iron turf burning stove and exposed beams. Off this are the modern fitted kitchen and full bathroom. The living room has bright south- facing patio doors opening onto the patio with garden furniture. Behind the house is a large private garden flanked by mature trees.

Heating is provided by the turf/wood stove and by electric heaters in all the rooms. Bed linen and towels are included. Additional comforts include a washing machine, clothes line, TV, and airing cupboard. A cot (crib) is available if desired.
