Primrose Cottage is situated on the Laird family farm. It has been in
the Laird family for at least 10 generations, and is currently a small
working dairy farm run by Nigel and Jacqui Laird. 26 cows graze peacefully
in the fields and are milked twice daily on the farm. Visitors are welcome
to roam freely and to help feed the calves and watch the milking. If you
are very lucky you may even see a calf being born! You may also pick apples,
gather blackberries and search for mushrooms. Early risers might catch
a glimpse of rabbits, badgers, birds, foxes and hares. Hay making takes
place during the summer months, weather permitting. Nigel is an environmentally
conscious farmer and participates in the Rural Environmental Protection
Scheme.
