LIBRARY REGULATIONS

 

ADMITTANCE

All staff and registered students of the College may consult and  borrow books. I.D. cards must be shown to Library Staff on request.

External readers with genuine needs are permitted to use the library for consultation only provided that this does not interfere with other users.

Readers are required to notify the library of any change of address.

 

 

BORROWING

          A college I.D. must be presented at the issue desk for each transaction.

            A student may borrow three books at any one time and must return or renew them by the date due.

            Books are on loan for a one-week period. Books may be renewed if not requested by other borrowers.

            The borrower shall be responsible for the safe keeping of the book until it has been returned and the loan record cancelled.

            Periodicals, reference material and special collections may not be borrowed.

            Certain categories of material, placed on restricted loan will be subject to special regulations as determined by the Librarian.

            Upon receipt of an urgent recall notice, a book must be returned within twenty four hours.

            A fine will be charged on each volume overdue, 5 pence per day The cost of postage for overdue notices will be added to the fine.

            The librarian may at his/her discretion stop the lending out of books in immediate demand and reserve them for consultation within the library.

            No reader shall transfer a volume to another person whether or not registered as a library borrower.

11.                      Borrowing privileges may be withdrawn on infringement of these regulations.
